Hop, Look and Listen (1948)
Hop, Look and Listen Review
Hop, Look and Listen is a 1948 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series. It is a solid flick.
A baby kangaroo escapes the zoo and he scares Sylvester. A bulldog convinces him there is no such thing as a big mouse, but eventually he sees the mother kangaroo and they both flee the house. That was a very funny ending for sure. The short overall is not the most original or exciting, but it’s solid enough.
I liked the design on the kangaroo and his movements, and Sylvester is pretty amusing here with his lisp talk. But the bulldog actually is the highlight of this entire cartoon as his tactics of encouragement are so entertaining and I loved seeing cat and dog work together for a change. That was refreshing to witness.
Hop, Look and Listen is a solid carton with good Sylvester and a particularly amusing bulldog.
