Hollywood Capers Review

Hollywood Capers is a 1935 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series. It is a typical short.

This is one of those shorts that revolves around Hollywood and is so much a product of its time that it is obvious from the beginning. Now, don’t get me wrong, I absolutely adore 1931’s ‘Frankenstein’ and the character’s appearance here is delightful, but the problem is that he wasn’t utilized properly.

The action surrounding him is not all that exciting and the film lacks in humor too. The animation is quite good and it is a nice look at the studio, but Beans himself is much more forgettable this time around and he was so much better in ‘A Cartoonist’s Nightmare’.

Hollywood Capers has a good setting and very good animation, but not great action and humor and both Frankenstein and Beans weren’t greatly portrayed here.
