Hippydrome Tiger (1968)
Hippydrome Tiger Review
Hippydrome Tiger is a 1968 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series. It is another messy cartoon.
Cool Cat has gone off to race in Le Mans; Colonel Rimfire and his robotic elephant follow, but they’re no match for the clever tiger except that the elephant wins the race in Cool Cat’s car. Whenever cartoons focus on any type of race, they are bound to at least be mildly entertaining as animation is ripe for it. And this particular cartoon is overall okay. It’s not great, but it’s certainly not bad.
The animation is very mediocre here. It looked cheap and badly colored. The score and sound are only serviceable. There is that elephant brought back for this short from the first Cool Cat movie and once again it was unnecessary to bring it back, but the ending was at least a lot of fun. Cool Cat has his moments too while Colonel Rimfire continues to be the most interesting creation in these movies.
Hippydrome Tiger is technically mediocre, but at least it has some fine gags and and a solid ending.
