Gorilla My Dreams (1948)
Gorilla My Dreams Review
Gorilla My Dreams is a 1948 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series. It is a weak cartoon.
This is unfortunately such a mediocre manner for the start of the year as it’s the first Looney Tunes short of 1948. Bugs Bunny has rarely had a weaker cartoon and although he himself is solid and certainly not too disappointing, the rest of the movie is very odd and strange.
He acts like a baby to satisfy a lonely female gorilla, but the husband does not approve and he takes him out for a big beating. The first half was solid in my opinion as everything with the mother was cute and seeing Bugs show that he has a big heart was great, but everything that came afterwards was so odd, uninteresting and I just found the entire beating overly brutal and pointless. The ending is also disappointing.
Gorilla My Dreams had a solid first half, but eventually the movie turned out rather strange and overly brutal.
