Flying Circus (1968)
Flying Circus Review
Flying Circus is a 1968 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series. It is another weak Looney Tunes short.
Ace, a World War I aviator hero, duels with Fritz Von Wienerschnitzel, an enemy German army officer who has posed as Ace’s superior. This movie features characters whom I have never seen before, thus it felt disposable and unimportant. On the surface, both Fritz and Ace are well designed, voiced and somewhat memorable, but ultimately they got nothing to do, so they failed to make a stronger impression.
Flying Circus is also rather strange as it is all about these two aviators dueling in the sky, so the whole movie is just one action sequence extended to fill the runtime of six minutes. Needless to say, this felt forced, repetitive and uninteresting. The animation is fine, the score is also solid and the airplane action is initially cool and fun, but it became old way too fast.
Flying Circus is a short that is basically composed of one action sequence extended to six minutes, thus it felt repetitive and dull.
My Rating – 3
