Feed the Kitten (1952)
Feed the Kitten Review
Feed the Kitten is a 1952 animated short film from the Merry Melodies series. It is a solid movie.
The film features the first ever appearance of Marc Anthony as well as Pussyfoot. He is a massive bulldog, and she is a sweet, cute kitten. He brings her to his house, and he continually has to protect and hide her from his owner who doesn’t know about the kitten being in the house. The premise is actually very strong, but the execution could have been better.
I wanted a bit more variety from its gags and scenarios. Some are great, but some are quite repetitive. I liked the characters, but for now they still need more and better cartoons to shine. Marc is the star here as his huge heart is evident while the kitten is so cute. I liked the owner’s role as well.
Feed the Kitten needed better execution, but still this is a solid introduction to these two new characters – Marc Anthony and Pussyfoot.
