Eleventh Hour (1942)
Eleventh Hour Review
Eleventh Hour is a 1942 animated short film from Famous Studios. It is the twelfth entry in the Superman series.
Lois and Clark are prisoners of war in Japan throughout this cartoon, and Superman must eventually stop the Japanese and save Lois. To me this is unfortunately the weakest short in this series so far, not by a mile, but still weaker than most entries because it’s yet another war-related short that hasn’t aged well at all.
I did like the ending, the different setting and Lois is memorable too. The animation is terrific per usual and the sound is fantastic. The action is also solid, albeit nothing particularly memorable. The entire movie is solid and serviceable, but by now I expect much greater things from the Superman series.
Eleventh Hour is one of the weakest Superman shorts which still looks and sounds great, but the plot and action are lacking.
