Easter Yeggs (1947)
Easter Yeggs Review
Easter Yeggs is a 1947 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series. It is a weaker cartoon.
The Easter theme is well handled here and the movie is well animated and colorful. I also really liked some of the scenes with Bugs and especially that Easter bunny who’s very funny, conniving and a good foil for Bugs himself. This short definitely is unique in its structure, high character number and an overall different feel to it.
But that’s also its weakness as it may be a bit too unusual. I personally found Bugs not as amazing here as he usually is and Elmer Fudd himself is literally wasted. The movie has so many characters and so little time to give them all great moments. It’s thus a solid, but not as funny and not as great Bugs Bunny outing.
Easter Yeggs certainly has its moments and uniqueness, but overall it’s never as funny or as memorable as a Bugs Bunny cartoon should be.
