Confusions of a Nutzy Spy (1943)
Confusions of a Nutzy Spy Review
Confusions of a Nutzy Spy is a 1943 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series. It is a solid short for a war flick.
This is obviously a WWII short, but thankfully the references aren’t overly abundant this time around. We get to see a Hitler mask, but overall it’s a straightforward cartoon version of a spy film, basically revolving around the bomb before explosion. That meant it’s your very usual cartoon formula, but that’s better than a full propaganda so I didn’t mind it too much.
I really liked that spy and his German accent. Him being a lynx is also very interesting and he’s so well designed. The dog is also excellent. The film is very well animated and overall the action is solid with the highlight being that explosion ending. What I really disliked, though, is Porky’s dumbness here which is honestly very annoying as he acts so stupid here to the point of him being frustrating to follow.
Confusions of a Nutzy spy has an unusually stupid Porky and a standard execution, but some of the action is good as is that villain and the ending.
