Cock-a-Doodle-Duel is a 2004 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series.

Foghorn Leghorn’s dominance over the chicken coop is threatened by a younger, sexier rooster. This was another surprisingly good Looney Tunes short released in 2004. It may not appeal to everybody, but I actually found it to be a lot of fun. The approach here is admittedly too modern with the sexy rooster and the jokes surrounding his sex appeal being too edgy. The music is also way too contemporary and so goes for the animation.

However, the blue humor mostly did work in this short as it led to many unexpectedly racy lines of dialogue. The fight between the two roosters was highly entertaining and the ending really did take my aback as it was immensely dark, unpredictable and very memorable. It’s one of those endings that either break or make a movie, but this time around it made it.

Cock-a-Doodle-Duel is a pretty good Foghorn Leghorn short that does have overly contemporary music and animation, but a fine storyline, great voice acting and excellent humor.
