Ceiling Hero is a 1940 animated short film from the Merry Melodies series. It is a very weak entry.
This short is basically another spot-gag cartoon which this time around deals with aviation. I do get that it was very timely for 1940 given the beginning of World War II, but today, the film is thoroughly uninteresting. Nothing here is funny for those not interested or in the know when it comes to aviation and thus I was pretty much lost.
The movie is solid in regards to its technical aspects. Yes, it is very well executed overall and its attention to detail is quite remarkable. The animation is easily its standout aspect as it is polished and everything looks excellent. I just wish that the movie was more interesting and funny plus its 8-minute runtime is just way too much.
Ceiling Hero is superbly animated, but boring in its story and lacking in gags to make it worthwhile.
