Captain Hareblower is a 1954 animated short film from the Merry Melodies series. It is a fun short.
This is yet another Bugs Bunny and Yosemite Sam ship adventure that is far from original, but it’s mostly pretty serviceable. I found it in desperate need of more memorable set pieces and action sequences, but some are downright terrific.
The highlight is the ending and throughout some lines by Bugs are hilarious with his accent being utilized for laughs perfectly here. The underwater scene is so good that I wish that Warner Bros made a full aquatic adventure for once. The animation is stellar, but the editing could have been better.
Captain Hareblower is familiar by now, but still pretty good in a couple of scenes with Bugs being so amusing.
