Canine Caddy (1941)
Canine Caddy Review
Canine Caddy a 1941 Mickey Mouse cartoon. It is a weaker flick.
Pluto and Mickey go golfing and Pluto gets into an argument with one gopher. I found this plot rather typical and this was a period where Pluto acted as a helper of Mickey in many episodes and that’s also the case here. Mickey himself is underused and thus rather forgettable as it’s basically the dog’s film.
But Pluto ain’t that memorable or amusing either, though he’s as endearing as ever. That gopher is a standard animal of mischief and even though he’s typical, I still really liked him as the scenes with him were easily the best in the movie. The animation is also solid and I liked some of the action as well. I just wanted more humor and character moments.
Canine Caddy has a memorable gopher and some good action in it, but the story and characterization are weaker here.
