Bosko’s Mechanical Man (1933)
Bosko’s Mechanical Man Review
Bosko’s Mechanical Man is a 1933 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series. It is a pretty solid short.
Now naturally I liked the first act with Bosko and Bruno better than the rest of the film as it was as charming and as romantic as usual with this endearing duo. But the rest of the film isn’t bad either as it features a different premise than usual with Bosko building a robot this time around, but of course it goes haywire.
It definitely had too much action in the second half and I thought that the film was seriously lacking in good gags, but some scenes were memorable and I liked the ending quite a bit. I thought the mechanical man himself looked great and interesting and some of the action was very entertaining, albeit most of it needed to be trimmed down a bit.
Bosko’s Mechanical Man definitely needed more humor in it, but the action is solid and its interesting premise is well utilized.
