Boobs in the Woods (1950)
Boobs in the Woods Review
Boobs in the Woods is a 1950 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series. It is an amazing flick.
Porky Pig wants to paint Daffy Duck’s “home”, but he interrupts him. What follows is a series of gags, almost all absolutely fabulous. There are two minor flaws here. Some moments are clearly not as great as others, and of course Porky wins in the ending which was weird to me, but still highly memorable.
But simply both of these iconic characters are at the height of their powers here. Porky is surprisingly smart and calculated with his licenses whereas Daffy is incredibly crazy and erratic in his behavior. They clash so well with the highlights being that opening with the copyright infringement joke being hilarious as well as that gay “steady” moment which was unexpected and all the funnier for it. The animation is also stellar and the film is consistently entertaining and inventive.
Boobs in the Woods is an absolutely hilarious, almost perfectly executed vehicle for Porky and Daffy that ranks among the finest Looney Tunes released so far.
