Bear Feat (1949)
Bear Feat Review
Bear Feat is a 1949 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series. It is a solid entry.
I still struggle to see the appeal of these Three Bears. They obviously were successful during the forties so I guess audiences loved them, but I find their style of humor dated and overly aggressive. Still, this is one of their better films, and an improvement upon a couple of previous installments.
It’s still overly chaotic and fast-paced with an overly detailed, odd plot to it, but some sequences do work very well, such as that fun final act. I liked the animation and the voice acting is stellar across the board. The group family dynamic is infectious here and it’s the standout in this as well as in any of the bears’ movies.
Bear Feat is not the greatest, but it’s not the worst Three Bears flick. It is overlong and messy, but at least solidly amusing.
