Along Came Daffy (1947)
Along Came Daffy Review
Along Came Daffy is a 1947 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series. It is a solid cartoon.
I did not love this one. I found it overall pretty good, but for Daffy’s standards, it did not amount to much. It’s by all means an odd film where we get two Yosemite Sams for some unbeknownst reason to me and neither is particularly memorable in my opinion. The mouse is even more memorable than they are.
As for Daffy, he’s per usual very energetic and a lot of fun. I liked some of his signature lisp in a couple of superbly spoken lines. The animation here is also pretty good and some of the action is fine too, but the movie needed much better humor and the ending itself wasn’t particularly interesting or funny.
Along Came Daffy has very strong Daffy, but the others aren’t as memorable. It’s a solid, but far from great cartoon.
