A Feather in His Hare (1948)
A Feather in His Hare Review
A Feather in His Hare is a 1948 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series. It is an okay short.
It follows Bugs tricking the Indian who chases him to no avail of course. The Indian is stereotypical, but for some reason he looks an awful lot like Ed Wynn, especially in his mannerisms. I did thus find him to be a different kind of an Indian character and more original, but at the end of the day he was too stupid to be truly great.
But Bugs is great here. He’s so funny in this salon sequence, that was hilarious. And literally everything he does here is his usual manipulative course of action that works and is constantly amusing. The short is brisk and entertaining, but that ending with the stork delivering the two’s babies was awkward and too odd for it work. I don’t know what they were trying to do with that.
A Feather in His Hare features a terrific Bugs who excels throughout the entire cartoon, but the ending itself is too odd.
