Honey Harvester

Honey Harvester Review

Honey Harvester is a 1949 animated short film produced by Disney. It is a pretty fun flick.

Donald tries to follow Spike the Bee to find out where he stores his honey, but the bee won’t let him get away with stealing so easily. This movie saw the return of Spike the Bee and he was a bolt of joy throughout this short. This feisty guy was persistent and eventually he did manage to save his honey from hungry Donald.

The ending was quite a lot of fun and the movie is consistently entertaining and endearing. The comedic highlight was the scene where Donald finally realized what he could do with honey. That was a hilarious bit. The rest of the movie wasn’t as smart and most gags were familiar, but still quite well executed. The animation and score are also stellar. I just loved hearing the bee sing to Whistle While You Work from ‘Snow White’. That was a lovely touch.

Honey Harvester has a couple of smart gags and stellar animation. The score is also lovely. Donald and Spike are both very amusing in this familiar, but fun short.

My Rating – 4
