Dime to Retire is a 1955 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series. It is a fun short.

Daffy works as an unscrupulous hotel owner. He sends various animals to Porky’s room in order to make him pay a fee to get rid of each animal. This is the standard Porky/Daffy cartoon where the duck harasses him to no end, and clearly there is a lot of fun to be had here as this whole manipulation was perfectly conceived by him and the beginning is particularly strong here.

Dime to Retire is quite repetitive in the second act. The ending was fine, but the mid section felt a bit too repetitious in the various animals going in the hotel room. I wanted more diverse scenarios here, but overall both of these classic characters excelled at playing these roles and their dynamic was excellent.

Dime to Retire has a repetitive mid section, but the rest of the short is quite strong and the characters per usual are a delight.
