Goo Goo Goliath (1954)
Goo Goo Goliath Review
Goo Goo Goliath is a 1954 animated short film from the Merry Melodies series. It is a dated short.
A drunken stork delivers a tiny baby to a giant and a giant baby to a married couple. The problem with this movie is that it reminded me of all those Merry Melodies from the early or mid thirties that are one-offs with similar storylines, this one being about a strange baby. It lacked momentum and humor.
What I liked about it are the storks. They are a lot of fun and are the most memorable thing about this movie. The animation is also very strong as is the narration. The movie is charming, there is no denying that. But the second half is particularly forgettable and inferior to the first promising one.
Goo Goo Goliath has its charming moments and a good first half, but the second half is inferior and the story is tiresome.
