Pink Is a Many Splintered Thing (1968)
Pink Is a Many Splintered Thing Review
Pink Is a Many Splintered Thing is a 1968 animated short film from the Pink Panther series.
The Pink Panther decides to become a lumberjack, but has to deal with an overzealous lumberjack and a swarm of bees. The Little Man is maybe here as the lumberjack, but it isn’t perfectly clear whether it is or isn’t him. The character is still very memorable and amusing, and Pink is so silly here.
I liked this new setup, quite fresh for this series, though the execution is somewhat middling as the humorous situations arising from this premise should have been better overall. Some are great, though, especially the ones surrounding the lumberjack. I also really liked the animation here, and the entire film’s quite charming.
Pink Is a Many Splintered Thing should have been funnier, but the setting is well realized and the characters are both well used.
