Going! Going! Gosh! (1952)
Going! Going! Gosh! Review
Going! Going! Gosh! is a 1952 animated short film from the Merry Melodies series. It is another strong flick.
Wile E. Coyote attempts once again to catch the Road Runner, and all attempts turn out unsuccessful per usual. This short is another stellar entry in this great series, though far from truly memorable or spectacular. What I found problematic here is that none of the segments are truly fantastic, though all of them are very good admittedly.
I personally found the girl disguise moment to be the funniest, every time they show the signs to transport their message to the audience is stupendous, that always makes me laugh. Another fun scene is the painted bridge, that one is always amusing. And I also really liked the ending. The animation is excellent, their designs are already set firmly in place and the score’s great.
Going! Going! Gosh! lacks truly memorable set pieces, but some are very strong, and the entire film is competent throughout.
