Pinknic (1967)
Pinknic Review
Pinknic is a 1967 animated short film from the Pink Panther series.
The Pink Panther wakes up in a log cabin in January and has to avoid both starving to death and getting eaten by a starving mouse before spring. It’s a fine premise, but the execution admittedly isn’t so great. I liked this mouse quite a bit as he has appeared before and is always very feisty and cute. His crazy design is also fun.
Pink is very good too. The animation is strong, and I liked some of the action, but overall it felt repetitive and never particularly entertaining nor really funny. This series is at its best when it’s unique in scenarios, but this one is standard for cartoons and not really all that interesting to begin with.
Pinknic is solid and well animated, but it isn’t particularly funny and it needed more originality to it.
