Rock a Bye Pinky is a 1966 animated short film from the Pink Panther series.

The Little Man sleeps on the ground in the woods while the Pink Panther sleeps in the tree. He gets annoyed by his loud snoring so he wants to get rid of him, but the man’s dog constantly helps him. Unfortunately, he thinks the dog is responsible for those actions. The panther himself did not get enough screen time here, but what he did get was excellent.

But I particularly adored the dog who was so cute and infinitely loyal that you can’t help but root for him against Pink even. I found the second half particularly stellar and I wished the movie was longer overall. The action later on is fantastic, especially the shooting and the digging. And the finale itself is phenomenal and perfect for this scenario.

Rock a Bye Pinky is undoubtedly one of the greatest Pink Panther shorts up until this point in time thanks to a terrific premise very well executed.
