Super Pink (1966)
Super Pink Review
Super Pink is a 1966 animated short film from the Pink Panther series.
In this cartoon, the Pink Panther attempts to be a superhero, but fails miserably. He continually fails to save a poor old woman from imminent danger, and he even manages to make things worse. Eventually, she dons a suit and is after him for a beating. Yes, that ending was quite funny and silly in the best way possible.
But the entire cartoon is incredibly entertaining, though the second half is much better and more memorable in its situations. Everything with the car and especially the railway scene stole the show. The animation is excellent, the suit is hilariously cheap-looking and the action is stupendous across the board. It’s also a funny cartoon with this old woman being quite amusing herself.
Super Pink is easily one of the best Pink Panther shorts so far thanks to a killer premise superbly executed and terrific action as well as humor.
