The Up-Standing Sitter (1948)
The Up-Standing Sitter Review
The Up-Standing Sitter is a 1948 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series. It is a fun, but flawed flick.
This one sees Daffy being a baby-sitter which was odd to me. It produced some fun sequences, don’t get me wrong, but somehow the premise alone is odd and not character-true in my opinion. That is why I could not get invested in this cartoon to the fullest along with the fact that the protagonist is not Henery Hawk, but acts like him.
Still the chick is a lot of fun, and very brutal. Also, Daffy is at his usual great self – being all screwy, clumsy and his lisp is hilarious as always. I also really liked the film’s animation and the sets were utilized so well into the action which is fun and quite well imagined.
The Up-Standing Sitter has its problems, but it’s fun and well executed in its action sequences.
