Roughly Squeaking (1946)
Roughly Squeaking Review
Roughly Squeaking is a 1946 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series. It is a standard short.
A stupid dog doesn’t know what he is as the lion tries to tell him he’s not a dog because the mice convinced him so. I’ve seen this type of stuff so many times before that I honestly think they really need to put this type of premise up for a rest. That being said, the dog is great. I liked his voice and some of his lines are quite amusing for sure.
But the ending itself isn’t particularly inspired and the lion and the mice are forgettable characters. Most of the scenarios are been there, done that with only a few good humorous moments, especially with the dialogue which is the highlight of this otherwise rote short.
Roughly Squeaking has its good moments in terms of the dialogue, but the plot is beyond rehashed by now.
